    With its latest release, Grizzly, MSC Apex continues to further integrate direct modeling tools, ease-of-use, and finite element analysis technology on its new simulation platform. In this lunch learn we will review and demonstrate all new features of this new release so you are all caught up with what’s new!

    New modeling capabilities – Grizzly introduces Smart Suppress to allow users to automate clean-up operations, as well as a new custom de-featuring tool capable of recognizing and eliminating user defined features. Grizzly also introduces cellular hex meshing to support multi-cut, multi sweep meshing strategies.

     New simulation capabilities – Grizzly now supports multiple events linear buckling analysis, including processing critical buckling load using user defined safety factors. Also, linear dynamic analysis now reads time input data, and vector plots are extended to support connection forces, and user defined cross-section forces.

     New User experiences – Grizzly provides users with a more optimized workflow by boosting their productivity with newly introduced analysis readiness remedy, section view, enhanced tie connections, and macro recording for scripting.

James Pura, Application Engineer, has many years of structural analysis experience mainly within the aerospace industry, and specializes in "cradle to grave" design and analysis workflows for airplane, spacecraft, and launch vehicle applications, including weight reduction and structural optimization of both metallic and composite structures. James has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and currently resides in Seattle, WA.
